FOLLOW THE UNTRODDEN PATH

AN APARTMENT in every port

Thanks to the Captain's travel experiences, along with Lonely Planet, National Geographic, an onboard library, maps, satellite images, and the professional edition of Google-Earth, by the time you reach shore you will have a good idea of what awaits you. Be it tennis, art galleries, historic sites, gardens, zoos, wildlife reserves, ethnic crafts or festivals, Raffles will have you ready and informed when you go ashore.

Golfers beware! You have the unique opportunity to play all the world’s golf courses from the comfort of your own home. Imagine playing St. Helena Island in the South Atlantic, 18 hole Longwood course, the most remote in the world <15.57.17.27 S – 5.40.41.70 W> with your own clubs, golf buggy or Segwaygt™.

In larger ports / cities, usually berthed near the centre, Raffles like your own apartment becomes a base to return to whenever, you feel it is time for a shower and rest before enjoying the new night life.

And don’t forget the shopping! With your huge separate storage space, accumulating Christmas presents for family and friends, without cluttering up your apartment, is not a problem.

Another variation on going ashore is that you can whenever you wish leave Raffles altogether for weeks of exploration in the interior. For example getting off at Mar del Plata (Argentina) and rejoining her in Manus (Brazil) well up the Amazon. All you do is turn on your dehumidifier(s), lock your front door, advise the Captain (pick up a satellite phone / GPS to take with you) and leave!

Of course with Raffles visiting many poorly developed countries then going ashore may for you also mean visiting local orphanages, schools and hospitals, with even the use of Raffles medical facilities a possibility.
