Who are the crew of Raffles and what are their conditions?

If you opt for the 5 year guarantee then for the first five years at least the Captain and senior officers will be British or Commonwealth qualified / citizens. The crew will be a mix of nationalities with most generally 30 plus in age, English speaking, with long experience at sea on commercial / war ships, in yachts or international standard hotels / restaurants.

The owners committee can request the Captain to replace unsuitable crew members and they can also recommend crew promotions, and bonuses.

The ships Master at Arms (Policeman) + Head of Security is ex-British Royal Navy or Royal Marines.

The about 100 crew incidentally will typically stay onboard full time, only leaving for 1 months holiday a year and live in very good conditions with 1, 2, 3 and 4 person cabins, a 100 seat dining room and 400m² lounge all located above the water line. Crew quarters finish is also yacht standard and complies with Lloyd’s PACC notation. You can visit the crew’s quarters at the crews invitation. Note that 3 concierges / maids live full time at each level of apartments, with one on call 24-7.

As most crew will work normal 8 hour days some of them may also operate some of the retail facilities in their spare time, to earn something extra.

Finally the ILO/ITF will approve the crews conditions.
